Whose phone number is that?
by CanadianLyndsay on Mar.13, 2010, under Resources
You know how sometimes you get a call and you don’t know who it is, so you race to Google and search that number and hope a result comes up. And many times, it doesn’t.
So, here’s a list of numbers that I’ve encountered this problem with, and the resulting person on the other end. I’ll add to this list as I find more.

Leave a Comment more...Air Canada knows that hockey comes first

Sunday, February 28, 2010 at approximately 3:30pm PST. Vancouver Olympics, Gold Medal game for Men’s Hockey. Canada vs. USA. Game tied 2-2 and it’s now in overtime.
The worst place you could possibly be? Anywhere without a television.
That’s what many passengers felt who were due to board an Air Canada flight in Vancouver were faced with as Air Canada employees were announcing final boarding calls. After repeated pages for passengers to board their flight, and those passengers not budging from the seats in front of any TV they could find, they finally delayed the flight until Sidney Crosby’s golden goal sealed the deal that saw Team Canada win gold.
For an airline that is under constant scrutiny and comparison to WestJet for their customer service (or in many cases, lack thereof) this is such a great story of doing something for the passenger. I don’t know how many people were MIA when the plane was boarding, but it was obviously enough for AC to decide to hold the plane. Luckily, that goal came just 7:40 in overtime. And as a result, passengers were able to see Canada win the gold and still be able to take their flight without being left behind.
Chuck Norris is 70!

I couldn’t believe it when I learned that Chuck Norris is 70 today. I figured he was maybe in his 50s. I guess I was wrong! I’d say he looks pretty good for 70, unless of course he dyes his beard AND hair red. This means that he was 53 when Walker Texas Ranger first started. That’s amazing.
In other news, Corey Haim (of “The Two Coreys”) died today of an apparent overdose. He was 38 and had drug and financial troubles his whole adult life.
Oh, and it’s my big sister’s 30th birthday today. Happy Birthday Devon!
Why I can't wait for winter to be over
by CanadianLyndsay on Mar.08, 2010, under Ramblings
There are lots of things I hate about winter. Mostly the snow. Now, being born and raised in Canada, and now living in Winnipeg (also known as WINTERPEG) I’ve come to accept what winter means here.
However, it’s now March. That means it’s been winter for about 5 months and I, like everyone else, am really really ready for winter to be over.
At this point in winter, let me tell you what I hate most about it – the snow packed bumpy sidewalks.
I suffer from plantar fasciitis, so I already have trouble walking in normal shoes. But after five months of walking on uneven, snow-packed and icy sidewalks, my feet are KILLING me. When I see bare concrete, I rejoice. I will go out of my way to walk on solid, flat, even ground.
So please, snow, hurry up and melt so I can enjoy six months or so of reduced pain walking. Especially now that I work downtown.
Pretty please? kthxbai
